How tuition works
What sets tuition, and what is extra. The director goes through the figures with you.
Tuition depends on the ensemble you join, whether you take private lessons and how long each lesson is. Ensembles are by the season, and lessons are 30 or 45 minutes. Summer Winds is its own session.

Registration
A yearly registration covers your member file, your place on the roster and your seating rehearsal. It is due when you join, and the director tells you the amount.
Billing
Ensembles are billed by the season, and lessons monthly for the term. You can pay online or set up autopay. A monthly lesson plan covers the whole term, not only the weeks you attend.
Help with tuition
Financial aid is available for players of any age. Ask the director whether aid is open this month and how to apply. We talk it through privately.
Withdrawing
Tell us in writing a month before your last rehearsal or lesson, by email or at the front desk. We will explain what happens to a season in progress.
Missed classes and make-ups
A lesson you miss with a day's notice can be made up within the term, and a lesson we cancel is always made up. Ensemble rehearsals are not made up; the director sends the week's notes.
Instruments, music and other costs
Borrowing a band instrument for the season, renting a larger one, method books your teacher chooses, reeds and concert dress for the youth ensembles are extra. Your teacher will tell you what you need before you buy.
